Video-Power Source: Your Intention

This dynamic is closely linked to perception. Our intentions choose the direction of our source of power. Is it meant for selfish or selfless means to an end? This is a huge component which can be an am amazing asset or a thorn. It is our choice to be aware of this source direction.
I have been talking about each human being possessing the amazing power source that activates our lives into positive, productive energy. While this is an intro, there will be 6 other tenets of power that each of us should actively cultivate and protect when achieving success. Belief, Faith, Intentions, Actions, Thoughts, and Words. Each possesses potential Power!

Your Power Source: Faith

Faith is the basis of your power. Your faith in something much bigger than yourself is the source of all that is Y.O.U. How do we challenge this or activate this?

Personal Power from Your Mouth

Every opportunity that I get, I declare to those listening that each of us are powerful beyond measure. As many times as we have heard this, the truth is that perhaps we have become numb to this notion, we don’t believe its truth, or we don’t have an understanding of how to realize this dynamic.

Don Miguel Ruiz speaks about the power of each word that we utter. He eloquently breaks down the mental science behind our intentional and unintentional destruction that we create daily behind the power of the word. Ruiz shares, “Through the word you express your creative power.” He also states, “What you dream, what you feel, and what you really are, will all be manifested through the word.”

To further support this the bible speaks of the Power of Life and Death residing in the tongue- that we choose death or life by what we utter. The Gospel of John speaks of the Word as, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word is God.”

One area that you can begin exercising today is the power of your word.

I think of God’s creation as a universal bank account. We make daily deposits and withdrawals that either pour love or energy into this world and others around us, or it sucks us dry and we become overdrawn and toxic because we are without the nutrients of good words.

I encourage you to make a deposit today. The one free power that you have is the intention of your words. Trust me, God answers and matches your deposit – exceedingly so!

My Proven Strategy to Burn Belly, Thigh, and Bottom Fat

Many of you reading this will not be enthusiastic about my findings, but truth is truth.

I am an Endomorph.  This is a body type that is more prone to weight gain and obesity.  The weight can distribute in the pear body shape, hour glass figure and even the bottom heavy body shape.  The unfortunate truth is that Endomorphs need to work harder at watching caloric intake (fats included) as well as incorporate a more cardio-rich workout regimen.  After recently reaching a weight that was the lowest I had seen since high school, I decided to test my theories which I share with those I train or consult about weight loss.

I was the guinea pig.  I had decided to decrease my jogging/running amount and integrate a new style of working out.  I was still working out several days a week, but I began to notice a slight to significant weight gain in about 3.5 weeks.  I am no longer that sweet little number from my high school days.  Now, I am on a quest to see if I can lose what I have gained.

The bottom line is this: For some reason- nothing trims my belly, thighs, back fat and glutes like jogging.  According to livestrong.com, the higher intensity workouts just simply are more effective than elliptical, and walking, alone.  Swimming is another fantastic high intensity, low-impact solution but I don’t readily use this one so I am writing from my personal experience.

I began to go back to my regimen and I am committed to running no less that 10 miles each week.  And YES, I am seeing the results after 4 days.

For those of you who despise running for various reasons, I understand.  But if you have a body type like mine, then I can only share with you what I have seen that works.  For those of us who are challenged with joint pain, this is a process that you must take slowly.  Consider combining a light job with a brisk walk and integrate the time. For example, walk for 2 minutes and jog for 1 minute.  Gradually increase your goal time and shoot for your first mile.  There are many programs that assist you in this endeavor online.

How do I champion a run with my joint issues? I have arthritis in both knees.  This is what I do to assist my efforts:

1. I take anti-inflammatory meds at the First Sign of pain and stiffness.

2. I wear ACE athletic knee wraps (found at Wal-Mart, Academy)

3. I wear Dr. Scholl’s Sports Insoles (Wal-Mart, Target)

4. I wear high-impact absorption socks with moisture control (Academy). These socks are about $14/pair but they are amazing.

5. I was fitted for my shoes to ensure the highest comfort that also allows for the swelling of my feet during a jog.

Whether I enjoy it or not, jogging helps me stay in the best heart, endurance, and fitness shape of my life.  It also assists me with my stress levels.  While I incorporate other pieces to my workout regimen, this is clearly something I can’t ignore.  I have proven it to myself and decided to share.

Improving You Begins with YOU!

“People are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves.  Therefore, they remain bound.” – James Allen

It may seem judgmental, yet it is (more often than not) a very true statement.  We see what can be perceived as inadequate, unfair, or undesirable in our lives. We may even get motivated to re-direct or change the issue.

Yet the motivation and the pulsations of “do now” action adrenaline tend to lose its strength on average of about 48-72 hours AFTER the motivating moment occurred.

Why is that?

Our present life gets back into our focus while the idea and anticipation of what the future COULD BE dwindles every second we resist taking immediate action. We go back to sabotaging our lives by continuing unhealthy habits, negative thoughts, and unfortunately- the idea of improving becomes a fantasy instead of a reality.

How willing are you to improve YOU? What steps are you willing to take to reinvest into a better life, a better circumstance, a better self-concept?

Think about this- we can remain bound by the very perceptions of which we live with every day- ourselves. Or we can choose to live in freedom and change the person we face in the mirror as we layer ourselves with clothing, makeup and possibly a false sense of self.

This may not fit you.  But if this resonates with you- acknowledge it, own it, and commit to change.  Life is short.

Live Well!

Belief-How it Really Affects Progress

Recently, I spoke at a Women’s Empowerment Summit  that targeting women who were in business or considering starting a business.

I began my presentation with a nugget of truth- or at least my perception of truth.  I began with Mark 9:23 which shares the story of Jesus healing the young boy of an Evil Spirit.

The father (who I imagine was weary with watching his son suffer for years with this possession) said to Jesus, “If you can do anything, please have mercy and heal my son.” Jesus, according to the NIV version says, “If you can? Everything is possible to him that believes.”

Before Jesus healed folks and showed His signs and wonders, He had a pattern.  Before the transformation was to take place, He asked them about their Faith and if they Believed…

Before your transformation – I ask you- Do You Believe? You can have the most amazing idea, the greatest invention, or the most profound purpose. Yet if you do not believe, then all of the tools that you have been given to succeed will be meaningless.

You may be going through a personal transformation with your health, relationship, or your perception of self.  It may seem like a challenge but if you Believe it can change and show itself healed, successful, and victorious- then you are right!

Henry Ford says, “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you are usually right.”

Your progress begins with your belief—-

You May Be at Risk for Vitamin D Deficiency

Did you know African Americans have a higher incidence of Vitamin D deficiency?  People with darker skin tone have to work harder at gaining sun exposure to naturally absorb this important vitamin.  Also people who are pregnant or obese also are at risk for Vitamin D deficiency.

If you lack Vitamin D, you may suffer from fatigue, joint pain, and some people even have frequent infections of various causes.

The supplement is the answer.  According to physicians, it is very difficult to receive the proper amount of Vitamin D from food alone.  That is why daily supplements can boost your levels.

I take Vitamin D from Nature Made.  No, I am not endorsed by them.  But it is a DELICIOUS gummy chewable for adults and a great way to keep my levels at a good place.  CVS, WalMart and Target are great sources for this product.

So, get tested with your doctor and ask for your vitamin levels to be checked.  Something this simple can be overlooked and it is easy to maintain.
